Ambix and Chemical Intelligence

The Society publishes the scholarly journal Ambix and the newsletter Chemical Intelligence. Ambix is an internationally recognized, peer-reviewed quarterly journal devoted to publishing high-quality, original research and book reviews in the intellectual, social and cultural history of alchemy and chemistry. It publishes studies, discussions, and primary sources relevant to the historical experience of all areas related to alchemy and chemistry covering all periods (ancient to modern) and geographical regions. Occasional Publications

A collection of important articles from Ambix, entitled Alchemy and Early Modern Chemistry, edited by Allen G. Debus, was published in 2004.

In 2013, SHAC launched a new series of monograph-length supplements, Sources of Alchemy and Chemistry. This series provides critical editions and English translations of some of the foundational texts in the history of alchemy and early chemistry. The first issue was The Four Books of Pseudo-Democritus and it was edited by Matteo Martelli.
