The Science Museum, in collaboration with partners, is hosting a one-day conference, ‘Chemistry in Albertopolis’, on 11 April 2019.

The conference will explore the 150-year history of chemistry in Albertopolis, the cultural and scientific quarter at the heart of South Kensington. ​This one-day conference will feature sessions and tours celebrating the institutions which helped to make chemistry a key facet of intellectual and public life in this pocket of West London and beyond. On Friday, 16 November 2018, the IUPAC will celebrate its centennial in Paris. The scientific Union will be celebrated during this symposium and in several lectures from members on IUPAC’s past, present, and future.

The 12th International Conference on the History of Chemistry will be taking place in Maastricht, The Netherlands from 29th July to the 2nd August, 2019.

Registration is now open for the next SHAC Autumn Meeting, to be held on Saturday, 24 November in London. The meeting will not cover a specific theme, but offers a varied programme of lectures, including on alchemical letters, laboratory practices, and chemistry and gender.
